Official Contest Rules

Last updated: 2 April 2026

1. Sponsor

All tournaments and prize competitions within Heartbeat Stacker (the "App") are sponsored and operated by Heartbeat Stacker ("Sponsor", "we", "us"). The Sponsor is solely responsible for all aspects of each tournament, including prize fulfilment.

Apple Inc. is not a sponsor of, and has no involvement in, any tournament or prize competition operated through the App. Apple has no responsibility or liability in connection with any tournament, prize, or claim arising from the App.

2. Eligibility

Tournaments are open to individuals who meet all of the following criteria:

  • Aged 18 or over at the time of entry.
  • A resident of the United Kingdom.
  • Registered with a valid UK mobile phone number and a single account.
  • Not an employee, contractor, or immediate family member of any person involved in the operation of Heartbeat Stacker.

Multiple accounts per person are prohibited. We reserve the right to disqualify any person found to be operating more than one account.

3. No Purchase Necessary

No purchase or payment of any kind is required to enter any tournament. Entries are completely free. There are several ways to earn entries:

  • Welcome bonus: New players receive 4 free entries upon signing up.
  • Free daily entries: Each player receives two free entries per tournament per day.
  • Tournament start bonus: When a new tournament round opens, qualified players receive 2 bonus entries.
  • Advertisements: Watch a short ad to earn 2 additional entries (or 4 entries if you have unlocked the permanent referral bonus). A maximum of 3 ads may be watched per day. Watching an advertisement involves no monetary cost beyond standard mobile data usage.
  • Referrals: Refer a friend using your unique referral code. When they join and play at least 10 games, you receive 6 bonus entries and your friend receives 3 bonus entries. Players who refer 3 or more friends unlock a permanent bonus of 4 entries per ad watch (instead of 2).
  • Exercise bonus: Connect Apple Health (iOS) or Google Health Connect (Android) and walk 8,000 steps in a day to earn 2 bonus entries. This bonus may be claimed once per day.

Additionally, players who connect a compatible wearable device (such as Apple Watch) via Apple Health or Google Health Connect may receive a heart rate zone score bonus of up to +20% on their scores. This does not grant additional entries but may improve scoring. See Section 7 for details.

There is no in-app purchase mechanism in Heartbeat Stacker. Entries cannot be bought with real money.

4. Tournament Structure

Heartbeat Stacker operates a tiered tournament system. There are ten tiers, each with a different prize value:

  • Paper: £0.25 (entry-level tier, open to all players).
  • Wood: £0.50.
  • Stone: £1.
  • Iron: £2.
  • Tin: £5.
  • Copper: £10.
  • Bronze: £25.
  • Silver: £50.
  • Pearl: £100.
  • Gold: £250 (highest tier).

Prize values are indicative and may vary between tournaments. Current prize values are always shown on the home screen and tournament entry screens.

Players begin at the Paper tier. To unlock higher tiers, players must qualify by finishing in the top percentage of participants in their current tier (the qualification threshold is displayed in the App). Players who qualify are promoted and may enter higher-tier tournaments.

4a. Payout Formats

Tournaments use one of two payout formats, displayed on the tournament card before entry:

  • Winner Takes All: The single highest-scoring player receives the entire prize pool.
  • Top 5 Split: The prize pool is split equally among the top 5 highest-scoring players. For example, a £10 tournament would award £2 to each of the top 5 players.

Tiers below £5 (Paper, Wood, Stone, Iron) always use the Winner Takes All format. Tiers of £5 and above (Tin, Copper, Bronze, Silver, Pearl, Gold) alternate between the two formats each time a new tournament opens for that tier. The payout format for each tournament is determined automatically and displayed in the App before you enter.

5. Tournament Duration

Tournaments are funded by advertising revenue. Each tournament has a funding target displayed within the App. A tournament closes and a winner is determined when the tournament's prize pool reaches its funding target. There is no fixed end date; the duration depends on the rate of player participation and ad revenue generation.

We reserve the right to extend, shorten, or cancel any tournament at our discretion, provided we give reasonable notice through the App. If a tournament is cancelled before completion, no prizes will be awarded for that tournament.

6. How to Enter

To enter a tournament:

  • Open the Heartbeat Stacker app and navigate to the home screen.
  • Select a tournament tier that you have qualified for.
  • Play the stacking game. Your highest verified score in that tournament is your entry.
  • You may play multiple times (using available entries) to improve your score.

Only your highest verified score per tournament is counted for ranking purposes.

7. Skill-Based Competition

Heartbeat Stacker is a game of skill. The winner is determined entirely by player performance in the stacking game, including timing, precision, and reaction speed. No element of chance, randomness, or luck determines the outcome or winner of any tournament.

All players within a tournament play under identical game conditions using a server-provided seed that ensures the same level of challenge for everyone.

Players who opt in to the Heartbeat Sync feature may receive a heart rate zone score bonus of up to +20% based on their heart rate at the start of each game session. Heart rate zones are: Resting (<100 BPM, 1.00x), Warm Up (100–119 BPM, 1.05x), Fat Burn (120–139 BPM, 1.10x), Cardio (140–159 BPM, 1.15x), and Peak (160+ BPM, 1.20x). The heart rate bonus is captured once at game start and locked for the entire session. Heart rate data is verified server-side; the server independently computes the bonus from the recorded BPM and does not rely on the client-reported bonus value. This feature is entirely optional; players without a wearable device or who choose not to connect receive no penalty and compete on equal skill terms. The maximum heart rate bonus of +20% is smaller than the skill-based streak multipliers available to all players (1.5x and above for consecutive perfect placements, increasing the longer the streak is maintained).

As a free-entry, skill-based prize competition, Heartbeat Stacker does not constitute “gaming” (Section 6 of the Gambling Act 2005), “betting” (Section 9), or a “lottery” (Section 11). No element of chance determines the outcome, no payment is required to enter, and prizes are not allocated randomly. It therefore falls outside the scope of the Gambling Act 2005 entirely, and no Gambling Commission licence is required.

8. Winner Determination

Winner Takes All tournaments: The winner is the player with the highest verified score at the time the tournament closes. In the event of a tied score, the player who submitted their high score first (by server timestamp) is the winner.

Top 5 Split tournaments: The top 5 players by verified score at the time of tournament close are all winners and each receive an equal share of the prize pool. In the event of a tied score for the 5th place position, the player who submitted their high score first (by server timestamp) takes the 5th place. If a tournament has fewer than 5 participants, the prize is split equally among all participants.

All scores are subject to automated server-side replay verification. A score is only counted if the server replay of the player's recorded inputs produces an identical score to the one submitted. Scores that fail verification are rejected.

9. Prizes

The total prize pool for each tournament is the amount displayed in the App for that tournament's tier. In Winner Takes All tournaments, the full prize pool is awarded to the single winner. In Top 5 Split tournaments, the prize pool is divided equally among the top 5 players. Prizes are funded entirely by advertising revenue generated during the tournament.

Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable. No cash alternative will be offered where the prize is a physical item (such as a gold bar). Where the prize is stated as cash, it will be paid in GBP (British Pounds Sterling).

All prizes are paid out in full regardless of amount.

10. Prize Claim and Identity Verification

To claim a prize, the winner must:

  • Have valid payout details on their account (UK bank account or PayPal email address).
  • For prizes of £25 or below: phone number verification (completed at registration) is accepted as sufficient identity and age verification.
  • For prizes above £25: complete full identity and age verification through our verification partner (Didit). This requires photographing a valid government-issued photo ID (passport or UK driving licence) and completing a liveness check.

This tiered approach ensures verification is proportionate to prize value. Phone number verification provides a reasonable level of identity assurance for smaller prizes, while full document verification is required for larger amounts.

Full identity verification is performed at the point of prize claim, not at registration. This confirms that the winner is aged 18 or over and is the person associated with the account.

Verification is processed by Didit under their privacy policy. Identity documents are not stored by Heartbeat Stacker; they are processed and retained by Didit in accordance with their data retention policies.

If a winner fails identity verification, or is found to be under 18, or cannot be verified as a UK resident, the prize will be forfeited. A forfeited prize may, at our discretion, be awarded to the next highest-ranking eligible player or carried over to a future tournament.

We aim to pay prizes immediately after successful verification. As prizes are funded by advertising revenue, which can take time to be received, payment may take up to 60 business days in some cases. Winners are solely responsible for any tax obligations arising from their winnings. We may be required to report prize payments to HMRC.

11. Anti-Cheating and Disqualification

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards cheating. The use of bots, scripts, modified devices, emulators, or any other method of gaining an unfair advantage is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification, forfeiture of prizes, and permanent account suspension.

Our anti-cheat systems include tap pattern analysis, device fingerprinting, server-side physics replay, and behavioural analysis. Decisions made by our anti-cheat systems are final.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Sponsor shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in any tournament or the acceptance or use of any prize. Nothing in these rules excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

The Sponsor is not responsible for technical failures, network outages, device malfunctions, or any other circumstances beyond its reasonable control that may affect participation.

13. Data Protection

Personal data collected in connection with tournaments is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By entering a tournament, you acknowledge that your display name and score may be displayed publicly on the in-app leaderboard.

14. Third-Party Platforms

This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Apple Inc., Google LLC, or any other third party. Any questions or claims regarding the contest must be directed to the Sponsor, not to Apple, Google, or any app store operator.

By entering, participants agree to release Apple Inc., Google LLC, and their respective affiliates from any and all liability arising from or related to any tournament.

15. Governing Law

These Official Contest Rules are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
